Savoring Each Sip:

Mindful Wine Tasting

Chiara_Casual_Bar.JPG

Led by Chiara Shannon

@TheYogiSommelier

Expand your palate and stretch your mind while learning to taste wine like a pro with Sommelier Chiara Shannon, founder of Mindful Wine™.  Mindfulness grounds us in the present moment, helping us cultivate greater awareness, and wine tasting is one of the easiest (and fun!) ways to practice.

Chiara will mindfully guide you through a flight of three sustainably grown wines, sharing tasting tips and answering questions along the way. You will learn to navigate your sense memory, discover new pathways of appreciation, and emerge with the language of a professional.

Chiara currently lives in LA where she is the Head Sommelier of K&L Wine Merchants. She is also an RYT-500 certified yoga professional and MBSR-trained mindfulness practitioner. This unique background in wine and wellness led to the creation of her personal brand—The Yogi Sommelier—and the development of Mindful Wine™, her education and consulting business.

All you need to get ready for this workshop is to pour a glass of wine -- it can be a favorite or something totally new -- and find a comfortable place where you can relax with an open mind and willingness to learn. Or feel free to join with a cup of tea or coffee!

Create Your Own Herb Garden

Caitie Dwyer-Huppert 2.jpg

Led by Caitie Dwyer-Huppert

@GreenCityGrowers

Join Caitie as she explores how growing your own herbs can enhance your life. Herbs offer wonderful aesthetic and sensory benefits. Herbs are versatile in the kitchen and growing your own is an economical way to have fresh herbs on hand whenever you need them. She'll cover how to start your own herb garden this spring, whether for a windowsill or an outdoor garden.

Caitie will also explain how to best harvest and maintain your herbs in the coming seasons, including storage, preservation, and preparation methods. She will lead a hands-on demo of how to plant herbs from seed in a “mini greenhouse” made from a plastic egg carton or any other recycled containers you have on hand.

Caitie is the Programs and Education Manager at Green City Growers in Boston.

Caitie previously taught science for 15 years in Worcester and Boston public schools. She loves teaching folks to grow their own food and to tune into the natural world around them.

A list of tools and supplies for this workshop will be emailed to you before the event. You will also have the option to purchase a kit from Green City Growers to be mailed to you before the program. Or you can just watch and learn!

Once you purchase tickets, you will receive a confirmation email for your records as well as a specific list of ingredients and tools to purchase for each event. Or you can choose to just watch and enjoy.

A reminder email with the Zoom link for each event will be emailed to you the day before.

Please contact us with any questions.
